So, I'm pretty sure I have decided to rip out my Nigella Wrap and start over. Over the weekend I picked up two more balls (THE LAST TWO!) of the green whisper from ArtFibers and found another ball of the bluish Mousse in the sale room. But I keep picking up my sleeve and looking at it and just not being happy. Sooo... I'm going to figure something else out. I also figured that if I keep knitting at this rate, it's going to be 90 degrees out before I finish the silly wrap. Maybe I should just put it aside until fall... or maybe use a different yarn later in the year. I do have like 5 balls of dark charcoal CP Merino Frappe sitting in my stash. I might wear a darker colored wrap more than a green one.
If I do that though... what do I do with the Whisper?
This brings me to the bigger picture.... WHAT ARE KNITTERS TO DO NOW THAT PONCHOS ARE OUT? (That is, those of us who don't make sweaters.) You need a certain amount of yarn for a sweater, much less if you're making a poncho. So what's a girl to do??

Is that wishful thinking? I still see ponchos everywhere (mostly on kids, though), but I will say I didn't see any at SF State, and you'd think college kids would know the trends before the preschool set.
I say if you like ponchos, wear them anyway. It's handknit, and that in itself is very IN right now. Otherwise, knit shawls, bags, coats, scarves, hats, everything! Or if your in the Fry Along like me, you can knit bacon and eggs :)
That's hilarious, Lori! But you're right... anything handknit is still cool. I"m more into bags right now. and the felted ones use a heckufalot of yarn!
